Hybrid electric cars are vehicles powered by both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The two electric motors work together to provide the needed power for the entire trip, resulting in substantial fuel savings. The Eco Pathos electric motor is not connected to the engine, therefore greatly simplifying the maintenance process.

Leadership In Energy And Environmental Design

Then there is the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) electric car. A LEED car is also a hybrid – meaning it uses electric engines to supplement the power provided by gasoline. Like a standard hybrid, a LEED-compliant electric motor provides the needed power as needed throughout the journey. But the electric motor is not connected to the transmission, which greatly simplifies maintenance. And since a LEED car emits only water vapor, nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide, the emissions are considered good for the environment.

For those drivers who may not want to give up their current source of electricity, Hybrids offer a third option. The Hybrid electric car is not really an electric motor at all; it is powered by the car’s own power source, its onboard batteries. It works much like a standard engine in that it uses air and fuel to move the engine.

The electric motor allows the Hybrid car to respond to changes in road conditions by quickly responding to driver commands and deliver powerful torque. The benefits of this technology make it a very attractive choice, whether you want a Hybrid for your daily commuting, or your weekend sport-car racing.

They generally perform better than standard vehicles on several attributes, such as acceleration and fuel economy. In addition, Hybrids are far more reliable and less likely to suffer from mechanical malfunctions. Hybrid cars also typically come with a limited warranty.


But what if you’re not interested in purchasing a hybrid electric car? Can you still get an electric motor from Hybrids? Fortunately, the answer is yes. Hybrids allow you to use your own electric motor to power your Hybrid, making them almost like a hybrid. If you want to drive something just like a hybrid, then you can, but with electric motors offered by Hybrids, you don’t have to.

While hybrid electric cars are becoming more widely available, you should take care in deciding whether to buy one.
